This one is pretty self explanatory. Just started a series with a new technique that I really enjoy and it is fitting for spring, very floral and lots of bright colors. You can see the large piece behind me. It's huge, five feet by five feet. My biggest so far and it was so fun to create. It's called dancing dawn.

After searching for a studio to paint in and getting a bit side tracked, I stumbled upon this gem just down the street from my house. Truly an answer to prayer and I could not be happier. And yes, that is my painting on the wall. It's a great space, nothing fancy but exactly what I need.

Networking

I just recently got back from Peru and was pleasantly surprised to have met a woman who is my age and a full time artist. She was extremly knowledgeable and encouraging. I love her work and I hope you do too. http://www.kikislaughter.com/

Light Within

One of my latest creations. I used a new paint meduim called pearlex powder and I love the effect it gave. I will be showcasing this piece throughout the summer in a Laguna gallery.

Art La

Last week I went to the LA Art Show and it was amazing. To walk in and see art work at your fingertips is so inspiring. One of my favorite artists there was Jordan Eagles. He is brillant and while his medium might throw you off it is worth checking out his website.. www.jordaneagles.com

As for this week I am starting a new painting and I am hoping to make it into a series. After showing my art at Ho Sum I realized that all of my peices together get lost since they are not cohesive. I am understanding why artists do a series and while is will be a challenge I am up for it..

Recreation

After 5 years I attempted to recreate my most popular piece, Wingin It.. I am quite thrilled with the results and even more so that the technique came back to me.

Tension

I enjoyed creating this piece and I call it tension. Your eye isn't sure what to focus on, the bright gold or the dark blues. In fact it was not one of my favorites but has really grown on me.
